![]() ![]() ![]() The origin of social networks: the theory of six degrees of separation The idea of social networks on the Internet has its germ in the theory of six degrees of separation, initially established in 1929 by the hungarian writer Frigyes Karinthy in his work Chains. In this regard, we address the study is part of a series of work being done FONTA group at the Complutense University of Madrid, to discuss the development of new information technologies and communication, among which Internet is the more diffuse interstitial and greater impact on society and the economy, whose rapid development is causing profound changes in interpersonal relations and cultural environments globally. These virtual encounters human flourishing in the cyberspace, have succeeded in transforming the relationship between content producers, to the symmetrical appearance of these sites in a complementary relationship. This paper conducts a thorough analysis of the effects of power created through personal interactions generated through social networks online. ![]()
